Margaret Kiddie, Thorntree Primary School, Glasgow City Council
Margaret decided to become a part-time volunteer at Thorntree Primary fifteen years ago. She later jumped at the chance to become a full-time clerical assistant.
But, her skills aren't only utilised in the office: Margaret launched a breakfast club. Staff and parents say she has taken on board many other duties that display "her wonderful attitude to children and staff at the school." As a first-aider she is always on hand. When a child was recently taken to hospital she sat with the pupil into the early hours.
Every Easter and Christmas, she decorates the school and dresses up as the Easter Bunny and Santa's Little Helper.
